CPAND is proud to support RDN’s, DTR’s, and nutrition students in our region with two annual, monetary awards: Outstanding Student Scholarship and Outstanding Dietitian Grant. Details of each award can be found below.

General procedures and rules for all awards:
- All applicants must be members of AND and CPAND for the current year.
- Eligibility is limited to those who have not previously received awards from CPAND
- Follow award checklists to ensure all required portions of the application are completed. Points will be deducted for incomplete applications.
- When possible, please save application documents as PDF files and include the applicant’s name in the file name.
- Applications must be received by email to CPANDNominating@gmail.com on or before the new application deadline of April 1, 2023 to be considered.
- All applications will be reviewed and scored by the CPAND Nominating Committee with input from the CPAND President.
- Once the scoring process is completed, winners will be notified via email and a check will be sent in the mail. Emails will also be sent to each applicant who did not receive the award.
- Winners will be recognized on CPAND social media, the CPAND website, and at the Spring Membership meeting.
Outstanding Student Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2023
Purpose: To recognize emerging leadership and achievement of a student member of the Central Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and provide a scholarship to support this student who wishes to become eligible for registration through one of the following ACEND-accredited pathways:
- Didactic Program in Dietetics
- Dietetic Internship
- Coordinated Program in Dietetics (bachelor’s or graduate)
- Nutrition and Dietetic Technician Program
- Future Education Model Program (bachelor’s or graduate)
- Individualized Supervised Practice Pathway
Description: One $750 scholarship will be awarded based on the applicant’s contributions to the field of nutrition, career goals, participation in local, state, and national academies, references, and educational merits.
Application Checklist:
- Outstanding Student Scholarship (see attached document)
- Most recent transcript
- Personal Statement, which includes contributions to the field of nutrition, career goals, participation in local, state, and national academies, educational merits, and reasons for applying for this scholarship.
- Two letters of recommendation. Include at least one from a professional reference such as a professor or employment supervisor.
Outstanding Dietitian Grant
Deadline: April 1, 2023
Purpose: To recognize leadership and achievement of a registered member of the Central Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and provide a grant to be used at her or his discretion to increase dietetics knowledge or support endeavors in the field of nutrition.
Description: One $750 grant will be awarded based on the applicant’s contributions to the field of nutrition, professional goals, participation in local, state, and national academies, and references.
Application Checklist:
- Outstanding Dietitian Grant (see attached document)
- Personal Statement which includes contributions to the field of nutrition, professional goals, participation in local, state, and national academies, and reasons for applying for this grant.
- Current resume/CV
- Two letters of recommendation. Include at least one from a professional reference such as a professor or employment supervisor.
